BREACH

/ briːtʃ /:

[Breach (n): violation or infringement of a rule or law;
a break in a relationship; crack, fissure, gap. (v) The act of emerging to the surface.]

A woman and a memory that creates a knot in her womb. A knot, the result of the oppression of her pleasure. A knot that ties her hands and pushes her to exert violence against herself. After externalizing the anger and physically feeling the pain, she begins to forgive and connect with her inner self.

Breach is a reflection on the misogynistic violence exercised upon a woman's body. Breach speaks of violence as a collective and transgenerational memory, perpetuated by a patriarchal system and a Judeo-Christian cultural inheritance. A violence that is not singular, direct, or isolated, but instead expressed in multiple forms and symbolically represented through the rope, in the form of a struggle against herself.

Intimate, poetic, and visceral.
